Wilmore is Ron's first solo album. After recording his first album, Lo and Behold with his brother Bill Moore in Charlotte at a pay by the hour, package deal, Ron decided creativity works better with more time and freedom to experiment. He bought his own recording equipment, and started recording with his high school friend and band mate, Doug Southworth on guitar, bass and vocals, and Roger Hughes on percussion. Roger was a native of Wilmore, Kentucky where Ron was in college, and had played in some local rock bands.
Some of the tracks for Wilmore were recorded in Ron's basement apartment in Wilmore, and one cricket track outside the door. Wilmore is a sleepy, quiet, college town in the summer, and the songs and performance reflect the easy going pace of the town, thus the name of the album, Wilmore.
Acoustic guitars and harmonies reign on this album, with some piano and percussion as well.
Songs include:
Wellington Tang, Song, Firefly, To Nancy, Montana Michigan, First Person, All Been Ready, Hymn To The Sun, Canada Calls
